Car hire customers in the USA will soon have a greater choice of electric cars.

Electrically-powered saloons are coming to car hire in the USA. Enterprise Rent-A-Car has just announced that it will soon have the CODA Sedan in its fleet, giving customers an ever-expanding range of options when it comes to hiring green vehicles.

The CODA, produced in California will soon be offered through some of Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s rental locations, the company announced on 11 October. The CODA has so far struggled to compete for market share with competitors such as the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf.

Enterprise already offers the Nissan Leaf in its range of rentals. Over the next 12 months, Enterprise will make a hundred CODA Sedans available across its US network. The CODA Sedan is expected to offer a greater range than the Nissan Leaf and should attract customers seeking a bigger saloon than the compact Leaf.

It is getting easier to hire electrically-powered cars as more hire companies make them available. Europcar announced last week announced that it will offer the Citroen C-Zero and the Peugeot iOn next year. Europcar also announced that it would be setting up and EV-charging network across Europe.
