Car rental firm Europcar has just launched its new application for the Apple iPhone.

The company said in a press release issued last week that the free software would offer customers “a new level” of convenience and accessibility to its products and allows consumers to reserve a vehicle at any of Europcar’s 3,500 locations in more than 150 countries across the world at “the touch of a button”.

Managing director Ken McCall of Europcar Group UK said that in the current age of tablets and smartphone technology people are demanding services and products that are accessible from anywhere. He said that the with new iPhone app, Europcar customers would receive exactly that.

Mr McCall added that the launch of the program was part of the firm’s commitment to embracing and utilising the latest technology.

In addition to reservation services, the software enables users to check out details on rental rates as well as the Europcar’s current promotional efforts, the company said. Extras such as child seats and Sat Nav units can also be reserved and existing bookings can be viewed, changed or cancelled as well. All bookings made through the application are confirmed immediately via SMS and email messages.

The software is available for download free of charge in seven different languages.
