Car hire firm Avis is celebrating its 40th year in Singapore.

A press release issued last week said that the company first launched services in the Republic of Singapore in March of 1972 and has become a trusted brand in the city-state over the last 40 years thanks to flexible, reliable world-class car rentals.

To mark the celebration, Avis Singapore is offering substantial savings through the end of the month – up to 40 per cent – and is also offering special deals in cooperation with travel partners.

Avis’ president of Asia-Pacific and Latin American operations, Patric Siniscalchi said that the company remains committed to providing top-notch car hire in Singapore and that it was proud of its growth seen over the last 40 years. He said that both business and leisure customers would continue to enjoy world-class services and products for years to come.

The firm currently operates five rental branches around Singapore, including at the Marina Square Mall as well as inside Changi International Airport. Officials said that the company had recently re-launched an updated version of the Avis Singapore website.

The news comes after Avis was recognised as "Asia's Leading Car Hire" company for the sixth year running at this year’s World Travel Awards.
