Car hire firm Hertz has dominated the 2012 Zagat Survey car rental recognitions.

Car hire firm Hertz has dominated the 2012 Zagat Survey car rental recognitions.

A press release issued this week by the US-based provider said the company took the number one position in 15 different categories, including the main prize of Best Overall Car Rental Company.

Hertz took the top spot ahead of 10 other US-based car hire brands and also nabbed several other categories including Best Loyalty Program, Best Vehicles and Best Service. Additional recognitions came in the categories of Best Car Return Experience, Best Counter Staff, Best Website, Best for Business Travel, Best for Leisure Travel, Best Self Serve Kiosks and Best Shuttle Services.

Mark P. Frissora, chief executive and chairman of New Jersey-based Hertz Corporation said that Zagat’s surveyors were “savvy” and to earn their recognition was a “proud accomplishment:. He added that Zagat’s name was synonymous with top quality and that he and all Hertz employees were honoured to win in each of the 15 categories.

The press release boasts that Zagat Survey has become the world’s number one source for consumer survey information. Established in 1979, the group commissions “frequent and knowledgeable” surveyors for rating variety of leisure and travel industry services including car rental, hotels and attractions.
