Rental firm Sixt has launched a new partner effort with Latvian carrier AirBaltic.

Officials from Sixt said last week that it had selected AirBaltic as a preferred partner in the region in the effort of providing the best convenience for travellers.

Sixt’s general manager for Baltic operations, Arnis Jaudzems, said in a statement that the tie-up was an “important step” for regional customers, noting that consumers were likely to appreciate new offers via newly launched one-stop-shop services.

Similarly, AirBaltic’s senior vice president Michael Grimme said that his company was not only the premier Baltic carrier but that it also offers everything from flights to travel insurance to onboard products to hotel bookings via its website. He said that travellers could now take advantage of car hire as well and added that Sixt was a “natural choice” for the partnership.

Officials said that members of both AirBaltic’s BalticMiles frequent flyer program as well as Sixt’s loyalty scheme would be able to earn double points as part of a promotional celebratory period. The offer is valid for bookings in all destinations, according to a press release.

AirBaltic is based at Riga International Airport and currently serves some 60 destinations in Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
