US-based car hire provider Hertz has launched a new frequent flier benefit agreement with Turkish Airlines.

Hertz officials said in an official press release issued on Wednesday that members of the Turkish flag carrier’s Miles & Smiles loyalty program would soon be able to make bookings with “preferential” rates and earn bonus miles on rental vehicles at Hertz locations worldwide.

The scheme, which according to the release enables Miles & Smiles members to accrue 500 bonus miles on each Hertz booking, comes as part of a new three-year agreement between the two companies.

President of Hertz International and executive vice president of Hertz Corporation, Michel Taride, said in a statement that his firm was “delighted” to have reached the new deal with Turkish Airlines and that the two organisations share a commitment to offering extended customer benefits via the latest enhancements, innovations and easy access to travel services.

Likewise, Turkish Airlines’ loyalty marketing head Dr. Bünyamin Topçu said that the carrier was happy to announce the new Hertz agreement, which he said would enable his firm’s customers to move closer to award flights more quickly. He said that Miles & Smiles members would also be able to enjoy greater service diversity via Hertz’s expansive worldwide service network.
