Car rental firm Europcar has announced a scheme to new students and parents in sending children off to university.

Car rental firm Europcar has announced a scheme to provide help to new students and parents sending children off to university.

The company said in a press release issued last week that it was offering up to 20 per cent of van rentals, which bosses said will enable those with smaller vehicles to fit everything into one load for the big trip to school.

Officials from the car hire firm also said that the rate is available for one-way trips, allowing parents to return home by rail, air or coach after delivering students and belongings to campuses across the UK.

Ken McCall, managing director of Europcar’s UK-based operations, said in a statement that moving new students to university always presents its challenges and that many times parents are forced to make more than one trip. He went on to say that the firm’s range of vans provide an ample solution to the problem and that the promotional rates would be available through the end of October.

According to the release, van rentals are available for as little as £19 at all of the brand’s rental locations throughout the United Kingdom. Available vehicles include models such as the Vauxhall Combo and the Ford Luton box van.
