Car rental firm Alamo has opened a new location at New York’s John F Kennedy airport on Long Island.

Car rental firm Alamo has opened a new location at New York’s John F Kennedy airport on Long Island.

The firm said in a press release issue that the move marks the launch of the first Alamo rental counter at the international gateway and follows the opening of a new branch at nearby Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey last year.

Alamo’s VP of New York and New Jersey operations Jason Altman said in a statement that the company was pleased to further its presence in the New York City area, which he said would better enable travellers from around the world to access the brand’s low rates and “no-hassle” service.

Mr Altman went on to say that Alamo’s services enable rental patrons to drive away as quickly as possible and to select their own vehicle based on prior reservations.

The company said that the move comes as a result of new demand thanks to increased amounts of visitors from overseas. US Travel Association president and chief executive Roger Dow said in a statement that it was “encouraging” to see tourism industry firms expanding services to meet the needs of a growing amount of foreign visitors.

Alamo officials said in the press release that the new JFK airport branch location can be access via the JFK monorail, which provides a direct connection to the Alamo shuttle.
