Car hire giant Hertz has announced the start of its Rent2Buy programme in the United Kingdom.

Car hire giant Hertz has announced the start of its Rent2Buy programme in the United Kingdom.

According to a press released issued on Monday, customers in the United Kingdom can choose from thousands of late model autos and can take advantage of a special 10-day trial offer, which officials said can help remove the stress from buying a second-hand vehicle.

Under the trial scheme, participants have 10 days to use a car of their choice to ensure it is the right choice for their needs. Should they choose to buy, the trial period is considered a free rental period.

Officials from the US-based global rental firm said in the release that the programme offers substantial discounts on well-maintained vehicles. Vehicles generally have between 12,000 and 50,000 miles on the odometer, and many are still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

Hertz International president Michel Taride said in a statement that Rent2Buy is a hassle-free and unique outlet for those looking to purchase quality vehicles without the haggle. He said that his company buys thousands of vehicles annually at specially negotiated rates, which allows Hertz to pass the savings on to consumers.
