Global car rental firm Avis Budget Group has taken home several major titles at the 2012 World Travel Awards.
Global car rental firm Avis Budget Group has taken home several major titles at the 2012 World Travel Awards.
According to a press release issued early this week, the US-based company was named the “World's Leading Business Car Rental Company”, marking the seventh straight year in which it earned the top spot in the category.
The award ceremony took place last week in New Delhi, India.
Officials said that the firm earned high marks thanks to its high level of innovation and creativity, as well as excellent customer service, product expansion and business performance.
Avis Budget also fared well in a number of other categories. The brand took the title for several regional awards including Africa's Leading Business Car Rental Company and North America's Leading Car Hire. In addition, the group was also named Mexico and Central America's Leading Business Car Rental Company, South America's Leading Car Hire for the third year running and Australasia's Leading Business Car Hire for the third year in a row.
Avis Budget Group chairman and chief executive Ronald L. Nelson said in a statement that the company was “thrilled” that travel professionals have once again recognised the brand’s commitment and hard work.
