Sixt becomes latest SIA KrisFlyer partner

Sixt has joined forces with Singapore Airlines.

Reports said on Tuesday that the German car hire firm and SIA have reached an agreement for a fresh partnership.

Under the deal, Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer members will be able to use and accrue KrisFlyer mileage on Six rental contracts at any of the firm’s locations in more than 100 countries around the world.

Thomas Chia, general manager of Sixt’s Singapore operation, said in a statement that the car rental agency is looking forward to welcoming SIA passengers from far and wide.

SIA frequent fliers will be able to earn at least 500 miles on each eligible Sixt rental, according to a press release published last week. Moreover, the scheme will allow exclusive chauffer customers to earn 1,000 miles for each time they use the service, except in Singapore, where they will receive 500 miles.

Regine Sixt, senior vice president of marketing for Sixt, told reporters that Singapore Airlines is the an “ideal” company for such a partnership and that Sixt would provide SIA KrisFlyer customers with the same top-notch service they’ve come to expect from Singapore Airlines.
