Car hire brand Europcar has launched a new franchise location in the South American country of Paraguay.

Car hire brand Europcar has launched a new franchise location in the South American country of Paraguay.

According to a Breaking Travel News report published on Monday, the new outlet in the city of Asuncion has officially opened its doors amid the brand’s ambitious expansion strategy.

The company first launched South American operations in 2000 and has seen rapid growth, according to an official press release.

Europcar’s chief commercial officer Marcus Bernhardt told the media that the launch of the new Paraguay outlet would contribute to the firm’s overall franchise strategy, which he said is aimed at strengthening its presence worldwide and especially in emerging markets such as Latin America.

The expansion scheme is set for a major step forward in 2013; additional franchise launches are scheduled in Bolivia, Vietnam, Singapore and The Republic of Korea overa the next several months.

Meanwhile, the firm continues to grow its domestic UK market as well; the company announced the opening of a new location at Nottingham Railway Station this week.
