Car hire firm Sixt has significantly increased the number of convertibles in its Spanish rental fleet.

According to an official statement released at the weekend, the Germany-based rental brand has bumped its number of convertibles available in Spain up by nearly 15 per cent, pushing its total number of available rental vehicles to more than 10,000.

Sixt’s head of Spanish operations Estanislao de Mata said in a statement that the brand currently boasts the country’s “best equipped” rental fleet and that the company now aims to become a benchmark name in convertible rentals. He went on to add that many coastal areas of Spain see more than 300 days of sunshine annually and that clients can now make the best of it via the firm’s extensive selection of convertible vehicles.

The news comes on the heels of Sixt’s newly announced partnership with Virgin America which will allow Virgin America loyalty members to take advantage of special bonus point offers and discount rates at Sixt locations throughout the United States and Mexico.
