Cape Town International Airport is the second busiest in South Africa after O R Tambo Airport in Johannesburg.  Cape Town itself is roughly 12 miles from the airport and offers international flights to destinations in Europe, Asia and South America; it also offers domestic flights with the busiest route being to Johannesburg.

Cape Town Airport has one terminal with ten bridges, five for domestic and five for international flights. The Terminal has a split level design with shops and restaurants located on the upper level.
