Hertz launches new travel apps for US iPhone customers

A new set of navigational iPhone applications for Hertz car rental customers was launched in the US early this week.

The Hertz Corporation said in a press release issued Wednesday that it had released a set of 11 My Explore applications for the Apple iPhone as part of its NeverLost navigation products in conjunction with software developer Navigation Solutions.

The applications are designed to help customers create efficient and exciting itineraries for a wide variety of destinations, the company said. Each of the travel tools is priced at 99 cents in the US market, although the first dowload is free.

Mark P. Frissora, Hertz chairman and chief executive, said in a statement that the new tools offer cutting-edge technology as well as custom content that takes full advantage of Navigation Solutions’ systems. He added that Hertz continues to put emphasis on customer experience, adding that through the My Explore software that this was done by enhancing each consumer’s expierience beyond the rental car itself.

Debut focus cities for the My Explore NeverLost app suite include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego, Miami-West Palm Beach, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington DC, Orlando, Boston and Sacramento-Northern California.
