Best Western and Budget Car Rental have joined forces.

Best Western and Budget Car Rental have joined forces for a new loyalty programme agreement.

According to a press release issued by the car hire firm, the deal will allow more than 15 million Best Western loyalty members to begin earning points by renting a vehicle at hundreds of Budget locations around the world. Officials also said programme members would be entitled to special money-saving deals through Budget’s own direct marketing scheme.

Avis Budget Group’s vice president of partnerships and global travel Stephen Wright said in a statement that the move would provide a boost in incremental bookings whilst simultaneously extending benefits to Best Western Rewards members.

The deal has already gone into effect; Best Western Rewards customers can now earn points on rentals in the United States, Canada, Europe, Puerto Rico and New Zealand, according to the release. In addition, bookings made for travel through 30 June will also accrue bonus points.

Dorothy Dowling, Best Western International’s senior vice president of marketing and sales said the agreement was a “tremendous opportunity” for the brand’s customers.
