Operations are officially underway at Enterprise Rent-a-Car’s new branch in Lowestoft.

Officials from the company said that the new location began renting its first vehicles late last month, adding one more outlet to the firm’s network of more than 370 branches throughout the United Kingdom.

Situated on Riverside Road at Lowestoft’s Lings Honda dealership, the new branch brings around five new jobs to the local economy, according to Enterprise officials, and is the brand’s fourth location in Suffolk.

Enterprise’s general manager for East England and the East Midlands area Janene Scurfield said in a statement that the move comes amid growing demand in East Anglia and that the Lowestoft location “bridges an important gap”.

Meanwhile, Paul Barkshire, operations director for Lings Honda, told reporters that Enterprise is a long-standing Honda customer and that the dealership was proud to help bring the company’s resources to the local community.

Likewise, Lowestoft MP Peter Aldous, who was on-hand for the opening, said that he was “very pleased” to welcome a company of Enterprise’s stature to Lowestoft.
