Car rental giant Hertz has added three new Porsche models to its US rental fleet.

Car rental giant Hertz has added three new Porsche models to its US rental fleet.

Officials from the New Jersey-based firm announced last week that the company was to bring the Porsche Boxter, Cayenne and 911 to its current US line-up. The three models will compliment the Porsche Panamer, which was recently added to the firm's fleet of high-performance autos.

Hertz chairman and chief executive Mark P. Frissora said in a statement that the move comes as a result of an “overwhelming response” to the addition of Porsche vehicles to the Hertz fleet. He went on to add that Hertz customers would now have more options for experiencing the automaker’s intelligent performance and race-proven technology.

The new additions will initially be available at select Hertz locations in California, Nevada and Florida. Base rates will start from $250 per day, according to an official press release.

The news comes just after Hertz was announced as a sponsor for the 2013 JDX Racing Team and as a partner of the 2013 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama. Mr Frissora noted in the release that the JDX team had a “strong” season last year and boasts an exciting new line-up of passionate drivers for 2013.
