Tour operator Thomson Airways is expanding its winter offerings from Leeds Bradford airport.

According to a press release issued this week, the company will begin operating a new route between Sharm el Seikh and the UK gateway from 8 November, which will be complimented by expanded capacity on its existing route between the airport and Tenerife starting 9 November.

Carl Gissing, customer service director for Thompson Airways said in a statement, "We are delighted to announce a new, exclusive route from Leeds Bradford airport to Sharm el Sheikh and an increase in the number of seats available for our existing Tenerife route. The flights will also tie into our fly cruise programmes from Sharm el Sheikh and Tenerife. Today's announcements demonstrate our firm commitment to UK regional airports, such as Leeds Bradford, which offer easy access to faraway destinations for all our customers. We recognise there is a strong demand in the area for holidays to Sharm el Sheikh (and the Red Sea) and Tenerife which are all popular winter sun destinations for Thomson Airways customers".

Likewise, the commercial director of Leeds Bradford airport, Tony Hallwood, said, "We are pleased that Thomson Airways is now offering passengers from Leeds Bradford Airport even more choice to these two favourite holidays and fly cruise destinations. Sharm El Sheikh and the fabulous Red Sea resorts offer excellent value money for holidaymakers and a high standard of accommodation for both beach and family holidays”.
