Car rental giant Hertz has announced that it will soon create hundreds of US jobs.

Car rental giant Hertz has announced that it will soon create hundreds of US jobs.

The move will come via the firm’s equipment hire division - Hertz Equipment Rental – which is currently holding a two-day job fair at some 50 locations around the United States. The firm said that it some applications for positions are available via its website.

Hertz Equipment Rental is among the US’s largest equipment hire providers and caters to numerous industries including power, entertainment and construction conglomerates. Officials say the division is expected to grow by as much as 15 per cent in the coming year, despite economic woes in the global market.

Mark P. Frissora, Hertz’ chairman and chief executive, said in a statement that some 14 per cent of Hertz Corporation’s total revenues are derived from Hertz Equipment Rental and the division would continue its aggressive expansion strategy that has been stepped up over the last 12 months. He went on to say that the hiring open house would enable the organisation to fill key roles whilst continuing efficient performance in the effort of providing customers with superior customer service.

Hertz Equipment Rental is wholly owned by Hertz parent firm The Hertz Corporation and has around 325 locations across the United States, Europe, Canada and China.
