Alamo gives car rental tips

New figures have revealed that at least one in five Brits are to take a holiday overseas during the Olympics, with many of them renting a car to get around.

Leading car rental expert Alamo is therefore urging British holidaymakers to reserve their car hire in advance so that disappointment can be avoided and the best vehicle that suits their needs can be secured. Neil Summerville, Alamo's EMEA Franchising Director, commented that the soggy British summer, coupled by a weaker Euro, has resulted in UK holidaymakers heading to foreign lands in July and August, with many travel agents reports that bookings are up by at least 207 per cent when measured against last year.

Summerville added that while it's easy to leave car rental until the very last minute, the amount of Brits heading overseas this summer means that it's wise to book as soon as possible if a stress-free trip is to be enjoyed. Families must guarantee that they have enough space for all of their luggage, as well as their kids, Summerville continued, as there is nothing quite like an over-packed car if a summer holiday of endurance is to be enjoyed as opposed to one of pleasure.

Alamo has advised British holidaymakers to use sat nav for finding their destinations. Summerville concluded that his company's fully inclusive rates mean that travellers are able to budget easily and will know just how much money they have remaining for holiday extras.
