The three brands of Enterprise Holdings have been ranked as the best rental firms in the US.

The three brands of Enterprise Holdings have been ranked as the best rental firms in the US.

The recognition comes via a fresh survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates in which Enterprise, National Car Rental and Alamo took the top spot following last year’s second place finish. Prior to 2011, Enterprise had held the number one place for seven consecutive years.

Stuart Greif, vice president of J.D. Power and Associates, said in a statement that Enterprise – the largest rental firm in the North American market – was able to earn the top spot by continuing to hone in on “the key drivers of customer satisfaction”. He added that company’s continued success comes largely thanks to its ability to remain consistent with high-level performance.

Among other rankings, Hertz took the number four position overall, but managed to earn top scores among business travellers. Meanwhile, lesser-known brand Fox Rent A Car came in last place, behind Payless Rent a Car. Last year’s first place brand - ACE Rent a Car - dropped substantially to the eighth place spot for 2012.

Officials from J.D. Power said that the results came via the opinions of more than 12,000 car rental patrons that were interviewed at major airports across North America.
